The General Election

Please pray:

• or guidance to make the right voting choice;
  
• that there will be a good turnout of voters;
  
• for the newly elected prime minister and government, that they will govern fairly and make wise decisions;
  
• for the courage and discernment needed to tackle difficult issues wisely and well;
  
• for all newly elected MPs that they will serve their constituents with integrity and commitment.
  

Christian Aid Week
9 – 15 May 2010

Please pray for:

• Christian Aid’s newly appointed director Loretta Minghella as she takes over her role;
• those who will be delivering and collecting envelopes, and taking part in other fund-raising activities;
• for an increase in giving to Christian Aid so that they can continue to fund all their projects;
• for Christian Aid partners in Haiti as they provide immediate assistance and help with longer-term reconstruction;
• for Christian Aid’s increased commitment to the prevention and treatment of malaria, which affects 250 million people a year and kills a child every 30 seconds.

In our Christian Aid week service on 9th May we will be finding out about life in the forgotten slums of Kenya’s capital city, Nairobi.

Please pray:

• for improved conditions within the slums, especially for provision of water and sanitation facilities;
• for community groups as they work with Christian Aid’s partners to build better lives for themselves in the future.
