New Beginnings

Please pray for our new venture ‘The Open Door’:

  • that there will be a good response to the invitations given out in the neighbourhood;
  • that it will meet the needs of people who are lonely and in need of friendship;
  • that previous members of the Luncheon Club will adapt to the changes and that many of them will be able to attend ‘The Open Door’;
  • for a successful first session on Wednesday 7th September 10.00 – 12.00;
  • that all who come will enjoy the activities, company and conversation, and find a warm welcome and a listening ear;
  • for Barbara and the rest of the helpers.

Please pray for young people and staff as they return to school this month:

  • for young people starting a new school that they settle in well, especially for Lucy as she transfers to Cardinal Newman High School and for Julia as she starts at her first school in England;
  • that school staff will feel rested and ready for the start of a new term.

Continue to pray for the work of LCET:

  • for the Chaplaincy team working in schools;
  • for Claire as she works in Denbigh High school;
  • for Lynsey , in her role as LCET Director, as she manages the team and plans for the year ahead;
  • for the LCET annual service ‘Deep Water’ Sunday September 18th 6.30pm at St. Mary’s Church, and this year’s speaker, youth worker Rachel Gardner.

Also please pray for:

  • the organisations and groups that use the church premises during the week as they begin their autumn programme, especially Fellowship Club, the Parent and Toddler group and the uniformed organisations;
  • the house groups as they begin a new series on Baptist Basics, especially for groups that have been reorganised in some way, people settling into new groups and the newly formed daytime group which will be meeting on Thursday afternoons;
  • Helen and Martin as they begin retirement together, for refreshment and renewal and God’s guidance for the future;
  • for Ramridge Baptist Church and their new minister Martin Shorey as they explore together the future direction of the church and develop relationships with each other and with the local community.
